We’re excited to share we’ve added another two Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Project Achievement Awards to our collection, following double recognition by the organisation’s South Atlantic Chapter for our work on Whitefield Academy’s Brostrand Hall. These latest wins take us to a total of 17 CMAA Awards since 2005, including three national accolades.

The CMAA is dedicated to the practice of professional construction management and represents over 16,500 members in 30 chapters across the US. Its regional Project Achievement Awards recognise outstanding accomplishments in the built environment, promoting professionalism and excellence throughout the construction process.

This year, Gleeds was successful in both the ‘private building with a constructed value less than 15 million’ and overall ‘private building, new construction program management’ categories for its work on Whitefield Academy’s Lower School, Brostrand Hall.

The Atlanta scheme involved the construction of a new 42,236sq ft, two-story building on an active campus, and despite significant disruption resulting from the emergence of Covid-19, the complex program was delivered to the owner’s deadline. The building now offers substantial classroom space for up to 300 students, as well as a dedicated dining room, kitchen, and media centre. Additional parking and related site facilities were also incorporated in the works.

Chris Soffe, Principal in Charge of the project and Gleeds Supervisory Board Member said, “We are delighted to have won another two CMAA Awards for the Whitefield Academy’s Brostrand Hall project, bringing our total to 17 over recent years. This project again demonstrates the enduring value of traditional competitive procurement and the merits of selecting a well-qualified and collaborative team. Our sincere thanks to Whitefield Academy, Evergreen Construction and Collins Cooper Carusi Architects for their assiduous efforts to complete this super project through the challenging days of the pandemic.”
