US offices volunteer to help local communities as part of Global Challenge
Gleeds’ employees in Atlanta and New York have recently completed volunteering activities as part of the Gleeds Global Challenge – the company’s corporate responsibility initiative that focuses on building community, locally and with one another.
Team members from the business’ Atlanta office volunteered at Vanderlyn Elementrary School, assisting with building their STEM Weather Centre. The system provides a highly customisable alert platform that responds to a wide variety of current and forecasted conditions by integrating a variety of atmospheric and agricultural data into an application that promotes both data and environmental literacy.
Meanwhile, employees from the New York office volunteered with the Riverside Park Conservancy to help transform one of the main park entrances. Taking place on National Public Land Day (Saturday 24th September) and working in partnership with the NYC Parks Stewardship Program, the team planted over 75 trees in a new landscaped area.
