Developing an Oscar-winning British animation studio

Gleeds provided cost management, project management and health and safety services for Oscar-winning British animation studio Aardman’s new-build Bristol HQ.

The space provides approximately 3,300m² of accommodation, with office and studio space arranged around a tapered atrium providing break out spaces, daylight and air movement for the natural ventilation. The building is designed to be highly sustainable in both its materials and use of energy. The building was completed at the end of 2008.

Award winner

The project was the winner of several awards including the RIBA Town and Country Workplace and Supreme awards, and the Bristol Civic Society Environmental Award.

We appointed Gleeds to manage the project, I’m glad we did. It has been very rewarding and the finished building is testimony to this.
